Agriculture Blogging Analysis
For my AGED 4143 Electronic Communications class, I was instructed to take a look at two blogs that within my expertise to analyze. I chose Carrie Mess, a dairy farmer from Wisconsin known as "Dairy Carrie" and Michele Payne, an expert in connecting the farmer and consumer.
Blog Effectiveness
I think both Dairy Carrie and Michele Payn both are
effective in reaching their target audience in their blog posts. They get their
thoughts across in a clear and concise manner while utilizing quality graphics
and content.
Design/Aesthetics
Dairy Carrie does an outstanding job on the design and accessibility
of her blog. It is easy to navigate and find what type of blog post you are
looking for.
Michelle Payn’s blog is an extension of her Cause Matters
campaign website, so she is limited to having all tabs on her page look
uniform.
Contents
Both blogs contain factual agriculture information in an
entertaining way. All of the posts are in proper format. It is not written in a
research paper or journalistic style. Blog writing can be hard to keep your
audience engaged and to continue reading, but Dairy Carrie and Michelle Payn
both write in a storytelling style.
I highly encourage you to take a look at these two blogs and maybe learn something! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to read about these women's passion for agriculture and their daily lives. It gave me new ideas on what topics I want to write about. Cleary Carol is definitely expanding soon!
