So without further ado, let's get on with the tricks and tips!
I apologize if this post is a bit late but I was studying for some finals myself. Maybe you can use this for next time :)
So without further ado, let's get on with the tricks and tips!
1. Ask Questions
This seems like a no-brainer, but really, just ask! If its history, ask for the time periods that are going to be on the exam. If your teacher asks you to write an essay, ask what the prompt is or what the essay might entail before hand. Most of the time, I have found that the semester test is consisted of all of the old tests you took throughout the semester. So, it doesn't hurt to ask.
2. Create Your Own Study Guide
While some teachers provide you with a study guide, creating your own will help you understand the material better. It is super important to make an outline of all of the important stuff.
3. Start Early
Cramming the last minute has always been something that I have always struggled with. So, please, I'm begging you, just go over some terms and information so you won't be so stressed out studying for 7 finals at one time.
4. Organize a Group Study Guide
Trust me, studying with friends is a whole lot more fun than listening to music and trying to study by yourself. It depends what type of person you are. I am constantly talking, so studying in groups is not very beneficial for me, but it might help you!
5. Study More Than the Study Guide Tells Ya
On my AP world history test, my teacher told us to study for time periods 8000 to 1750. Sure enough, he put questions on the test that were not between those time periods. Luckily, I had read ahead enough to know the answers. lol.
6. Take Breaks
Taking breaks are very crucial in order to let everything sink in. Breaks can be used as a reward for all of your hard work of studying. I like to take 10 min breaks for every 1 hour and 30 minutes of studying. Grab a snack, watch a little bit of Netflix, or go take a walk and get some fresh air.
7. Get Some Rest
I have stayed up to 1 a.m. plenty of nights studying and stressing. Trust me, the more you stay up and constantly study, the more you lose it. Study and then get plenty of rest so you can keep it!
So, that's it! I hope you found this helpful! Christmas break is only a couple of tests away!
Go make some A's!
