Landscape from Veteran's Park

So for this photo journal, my brother dragged me to the park on a Sunday to walk and naturally, I grabbed my camera. It was a super overcast day so when we got to the location, I Pinterest-ed manual camera settings to use and this is what I came up with.

Automatic Settings
f/5.6, 1/200 s, iso 100
Automatic Settings
f/8, 1/125, iso 200

So for this photo, I shot it in automatic mode and I thought it was pretty good, but I tried the manual setting I found from Pinterest. I wanted the trees in the background to be sharper, so I increased and then with the shutter speed and iso, I just wanted to let some more light in. In editing, I made minor adjustments; decreasing exposure, turning the contrast up, decreasing the highlights and turning up the shadows. (I also don't know what that shadow is in the window... kinda spooky.)

Automatic Settings
f/7.1, 1/320, iso100
Manual Settings
f/8, 1/125, iso 200

I tried to get a wide shot of the lake. The automatic settings made the photo dark and moody so I stuck with my automatic settings before and got a brighter picture. I used the same editing techniques as the first picture.

Manual Settings
f/8, 1/125, iso 200

So for this photo, I stuck to my manual settings. I edited the photo to look more "rich" in my opinion. I decreased the exposure and barely increased the contrast to bring out the reflection of the trees. I turned down the highlights and increased the shadows. I increased the vibrance as well as the texture and clarity.

Automatic Settings:
f/4.5, 1/100s, iso 400
Manual Settings:
f/4.5, 1/100 s, iso 100

So this is actually a photo I took on Jessica's shoot but I wanted to share it on this post. The automatic  settings washed this building out completely and I wanted to be able to see the seal. All I adjusted was the iso by decreasing it. In editing, I decreased my exposure further and increased the contrast. I decreased my highlights and increased the shadows. I made the photo just a tad more yellow. I wish I would have gotten this photo at a different angle, but I shot this picture super quick and without much thought.
