Professional Development Blog Post #9: Office Dynamics

Mr. Jason Giebler came to our Professional Development class to discuss how to properly carry yourself in the workplace. It was so insightful and I felt so motivated to do better.

Things I learned from Mr. Giebler:

Coffee is a time waster

    • Mr. Giebler said that a quick and easy trip to the coffee pot can turn into 20 minutes of socializing. That costs the company money that you are trying to make them in the first place. It is counter productive. I feel like I find myself doing similar things when I study at home and school.
Focus!
    • Mr. Giebler facilitated an activity to our class to make our brains work a little different and to focus. I totally have little distractions in my life that I really need to take out of my life.
Blast off!
    • Mr. Giebler said that our brains have five seconds to realize that we're making a decision. He said that when your alarm goes off, count to ten and get out of bed! This is totally something I need to start doing. 

Mr. Giebler was so nice and charismatic that honestly everything he said was so interesting and useful.
