Grace & Goose

Grace Vehige is one of the most diligent, hardworking and strong-willed girls I know. Grace is kind-hearted and would do just about anything for anyone! I am privileged to be considered one of her best friends.

Grace and I went to a couple of places around campus and shot some pictures with her dog, Goose. Goose is a wild child, but we did our best capture cute moments with her pooch. Grace is the walking definition of "Dog Mom."

I remember the first time I met Grace. I mean, I've always knew Grace. I thought she was way too cool to be my friend and it turns out that she thought the same thing about me!

Our bond from ice cream, Netflix and cattle turned into a friendship full of talks about Christ, accepting others despite our flaws and sharing advice on boys, taking internships and Grace's decision to study abroad in Rome.

John 15:13 says, "Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Thank you Grace, for being my best friend.

For these photos, I grabbed my best friend and her pooch and we went to take pictures! For part of my goals, I wanted to focus on portrait photography. We took these photos from about 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Stop #1: The Agriculture Building
I shot a photo on the Automatic settings to see where to start. I decided that I was going to have to up the shutter speed because we were dealing with a wiggly dog. I also bumped up the ISO.

Stop #2: Mullins Library
This is an icon spot to take pictures on campus. I framed the photo with the the columns and walls. I decided to take the photo closer up and increase the ISO.

Stop #3: Sidewalk between the Architecture Building and Mullins
This was a cute option to show Grace and Goose just walking. The automatic setting was sufficient, but I wasn't crazy how the sun was hitting Grace's face so I asked her to turn around and start walking again and I think we ended up with a better shot.

Stop #4: The Maude Wall
I love how fun this wall is so I thought it would be a cute idea to run over there real quick, however the sun was setting very quickly. I tried the first photo on automatic, and it added flash. I didn't like the look because it created a shadow. I then took the picture without flash and edited it lighter.
